Recent studies show that professional women struggle with a very high rate of stress, anxiety, and mental health issues. A cornerstone of professionalism is the professional’s ability to maintain their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

As professional women, we often face unique challenges and struggles such as finding the elusive “work-life balance,” balancing motherhood with working and keeping on top of the never-ending to-do list.

We can be incredibly demanding of ourselves and feel as though we’re not living up to the expectations - struggling with the feelings of not being good enough or doing enough.

Rather than focus on adding to the ever-growing to-do list, we can use simple mindfulness and meditation practices to slow down, experience more ease, and regularly practice intentionally letting go of stress and anxiety.

In this interactive 1-hour workshop, you’ll learn:

  • Practical strategies for stress and anxiety management

  • Understand the science of the stress response

  • How to manage rumination and negative thought patterns

  • Simple mindfulness practices you can incorporate into your day to help you return to homeostasis

  • Finding ways to charge your body budget

  • Clarifying our values and intentions

  • Taking a gentler stance towards ourselves and changing the narrative from perfection to striving for excellence

  • The value of compassion as a tool for building connection and, its relationship to our common humanity

Jeena Cho is the co-author of best-selling book, The Anxious Lawyer, An 8-Week Guide to a Joyful and Satisfying Law Practice Through Mindfulness and Meditation (ABA). She started her career as an assistant state attorney and practiced bankruptcy law for over 15 years before becoming a mindfulness consultant. She writes the monthly On Well-Being column for the ABA Journal where she covers resilience, work/life integration, and wellness in the workplace. She regularly speaks and offers training on lawyer well-being, stress and anxiety management, productivity, mindfulness, and meditation.
