Tips and Tricks for LWT's Virtual WILpower Workshops
LWT is using Zoom for the WILpower Program to ensure our participants are safe during these challenging times. This is still a learning experience for all of us so please bear with us, as we are adjusting to Zoom for large meetings.
Meanwhile, here are some best practices, courtesy of Ring Leader Erin Merchant:
Use Zoom Client (download) if possible as it will give you the most control over your experience.
Use headphones if you can to minimize ambiant noise.
"Dial in" using wither the Computer or Internet audio. If you are joining via your phone, the Zoom app will give you more control. However, t under poor bandwidth conditions, dialing-in via phone with WIFI off might make the connection more stable.
If you’re having connection issues, turn your video off and don’t forget the basics:
Make sure your Zoom client is up-to-date.
Turn your Wifi on your computer off then back on again.
Restart your computer.
Worst case: restart your router.
If you’re launching Zoom from a web browser:
Use Google Chrome or Firefox for automatic link launch
If you’re having trouble getting Zoom to launch, check out this troubleshooting guide.
If you are joining via your phone, here are some helpful shortcuts:
*6 to unmute.
*9 to raise your hand.
