Sr. Vice President and Managing Counsel, Wells Fargo

January Speaker (SF & Palo Alto locations): Welcome to WILpower & Networking

June Speaker: Negotiate for Success

I participated in WILpower in 2014 because I needed a new approach that would teach and then empower me to set and achieve my goals and guide me to greater success at work. What I found in WILpower was a diverse and supportive community where I could do all that, plus receive encouragement to be brave and stretch. Along this WILpower journey I’ve given help, taken help, and connected many others for help – it’s this community aspect of WILpower that’s so inspiring.

I come from a tech/commercial transactions legal background, but the content and skills I learned though WILpower are industry and role agnostic – it’s just powerful lessons for all kinds of women on how to be more impactful, aligned, and effective professionals.

Susan Seah

Seattle Chapter Representative, LWT Board

Co-Founder, CounselGS LLP

January Speaker (Seattle location): Welcome to WILpower & Networking

I started my journey with LWT as a participant of the WILpower Program in Palo Alto. The program was incredibly insightful and a great way to build long-term relationships with women who were smart, ambitious and inspiring. I knew we had to bring the organization and program to Seattle, so that others in Seattle may have the same opportunity to experience the valuable learnings offered by the program. I also wanted to help build a tight knit community of women here in Seattle through LWT who can lean on each other while pursuing their own personal and professional growth. It has been an amazing journey so far being a part of LWT and I can’t wait to see what other great stuff we will be doing for LWT in Seattle and elsewhere!

January Speaker (Palo Alto location): Welcome to WILpower & Networking

April Speaker (Palo Alto & Seattle locations): Negotiate for Success

When I moved to California from Canada in 2013, I hardly knew anyone. Fortunately, the one friend I had in the area was a member of LWT. She convinced me to join WILpower as a way to grow my career and expand my network. The program absolutely delivered. The lessons I learned have made me a stronger professional and a better contributor to my various teams, at work and elsewhere.

If you are joining a WILpower cohort, my best advice is: "Practice makes perfect". You are going to learn a lot of valuable lessons and grow your skill set. Practicing these skills regularly will help you get the full benefit of the program.
